Indianapolis, IN, September 10, 2010 - Mathew L., 6, a student at Indian Fields Elementary School in Dayton, NJ, won first place in the 2010 U.S. Kids Cover Art Contest. Matthew's drawing is featured on the cover of the September/October issue of Humpty Dumpty magazine, a U.S. Kids publication, and online at www.uskidsmags.com. Joan SerVaas, publisher of Humpty Dumpty magazine, made the announcement today.

In addition to featuring the winning drawing on the cover of Humpty Dumpty magazine, U.S. Kids editors will visit Matthew's classroom to donate $1,500 and art supplies to the art department of Indian Fields Elementary School in Matthew's name. Matthew will also receive art supplies and a Razor Scooter.

"As the teaching of art continues to decline in schools nationwide, it is increasingly important that cultural organizations such as U.S. Kids and its parent organization The Saturday Evening Post Society fill the void," said SerVaas.
