Why (and How) Does Peter Sneeze?

Peter sneezes to get rid of things that irritate his nose. Tiny hairs inside Peter’s nose trap dust and other particles. But when these particles slip past the hairs, Peter’s nose sends a message to the “sneeze center” of his brain. This is where everything comes together for the big A-A-A-CHOO!

Fun Fact:
About one in three people sneeze when they step into bright light. They are called photic (FOE-tik), or light, sneezers. If you are a photic sneezer, you got it from one of your parents!
