It’s Your Holiday Tradition

Jack and Jill readers are letting us in on their holiday traditions. They sound like so much fun that we wish we could join each of you as you celebrate! Thanks for sharing! Plus, scroll down for a chance to let us know more about your holidays.

My holiday tradition is going to my aunt’s Christmas Eve party! There are lots of family and friends that attend! The children gather together and play together in the basement while the grown ups socialize upstairs until it’s time to eat. Before the food is served we say grace. That is my holiday tradition.

My holiday tradition is making Christmas cutout cookies with Mom, decorating the Christmas tree, and hanging up stockings. We go shopping and buy Christmas presents for our cousins. We get together with the whole family and have a big feast, and everyone brings food to share. We wear red dresses and our mom puts our hair up.

We go to all our family members and have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On Christmas we do the same thing. We love enjoying being together.

My Christmas tradition is waking our parents up an opening all of our presents.

Every Thanksgiving my whole family goes to my Uncle Albert’s house and has a cane grinding. We make cane syrup, dog candy (not literally), cane juice, and dressing. Every family member likes to make a dish. My grandma makes everything in the recipe book. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
