Sunflower

Act out this poem while someone reads it aloud.

Golden, smiling sunflower
(Point to each corner of
your mouth and draw an
imaginary smile.)

Peeking over the garden wall,
(Place your hands together
under your chin and stretch
your neck upward.)

You used to be a little plant.
(Crouch down and tuck your
head between your knees with
your palms down on the floor.)

Now you are so tall!
(Stand up and stretch your
arms high over your head.)

Happy, snappy sunflower
(Draw a big, imaginary smile.
Place your hands on each side
of your waist, and swing your
elbows, twisting your body.)

Playing peek-a-boo,
(Cover your face with
your hands and then pull
them away.)

I’d like to grow and grow
some more
(Lift up your hands with
your palms down.)

To be as tall as you!
(Stretch your arms high
above your head.)
