Ladybug Jewelry

Ask an adult to help you make these ladybug jewelry pieces for yourself or to give as a gift! (This dough is NOT edible.)

What You Need:

  • Medium-sized bowl
  • 2 slices of white bread (with crusts removed)
  • 5 teaspoons craft glue
  • Waxed paper
  • 1¼-inch pieces of jewelry wire, bent into U-shaped loops (let an adult do this)
  • Red craft paint
  • Black permanent marker
  • Ribbon or earring wires

What You Do:

  1. Tear up the bread and place it in the bowl.
  2. Add the glue and mix with your fingers until a dough forms.
  3. Roll marble-sized balls of dough and flatten them on the bottom.
  4. Stick the wires halfway into the balls. Place on waxed paper and dry overnight.
  5. Paint the ladybugs with red paint and leave them on the waxed paper to dry.
  6. Decorate your ladybugs. Hang them from a ribbon to make a necklace, or attach them to earring wires.

Note: Always remove necklaces before active play.
