Measuring Fun

Parents: This exercise in volume measurement is interactive, educational, and fun. It can be done at the kitchen table or on a table outdoors as long as the wind is not blowing.

You Will Need:

  • Permanent marker
  • 5 to 10 plastic cups
  • Medium-sized bowl
    of uncooked rice
  • Measuring spoons

What to Do:

  1. Use the marker to draw a big dot on one of the
plastic cups. On the second cup, draw TWO
dots. On the third cup draw THREE dots, and so on,
until you have prepared 5 to 10 cups.
