Book Review: The Vengekeep Prophecies

The Vengekeep Prophecies
by Brian Farrey
Harper

The Grimjinx family is known for one thing: thieving. But after the famous cons trick the town of Vengekeep into believing that terrible things are coming and they’re the prophesied saviors, even they might be in too deep.

The prophecy was supposed to be fake, but suddenly, the terrible fires, floods, and attacking beasts are real. It’s up to 12-year-old Jaxter Grimjinx and his new friend Callie to find a way to destroy the prophecy—before the prophecy destroys Vengekeep!

I love the idea of a family of fun-loving thieves, and the Grimjinx clan’s antics kept me laughing out loud! This book has something for everyone: prophecy, mystery, adventure, magic, and humor. Jaxter’s sweet nature and Callie’s spunk made me want to find them and make friends!

Even the secondary characters—the scientific Dowager, the mysterious thief Edilman, and the brave wizard Talian— are fun and quirky. I’ll definitely be reading the sequels!

The Vengekeep Prophecies by Brian Farrey will be available tomorrow from Harper.
