REAL School Gardens Tomato Puree
Ask an adult to help you with the chopping and cooking in this recipe.
½ yellow onion 1 stalk celery 1 bell pepper 6 medium tomatoes 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon sugar Salt and pepper to taste
1.Wash your hands. Chop up all of the vegetables. 2.Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large pan. 3.Carefully add the chopped vegetables. 4.Simmer vegetables, stirring occasionally, until they become soft. 5.Take the pan off of the stove and let veggies cool. 6.Place the veggies in a blender and puree until mostly smooth. 7.Season with sugar and pinches of salt and pepper. 8.Warm sauce to serve over pasta or chicken.
