Save Pennies In Your Piggy Bank for the Holidays

We’ve found lots of ways to give friends and family a happy holiday even if you don’t have tons of pennies in your piggy bank! Check out the five ideas below, and pick up your November/December 2011 issue of Jack and Jill for five more ideas!

  1. Give your friend a giggle this year for Christmas. Write a joke book, but don’t finish it. Ask your friends to write jokes in it, too.
  2. Shake up your Christmas, and create homemade holiday snow globes.

  3. Patch up the holidays with decorative duct tape.  Create a scrapbook for friends or family, a wallet for dad or your brother. Make a duct tape book cover or even a duct tape purse.
  4. Create an inspirational calendar. Design a calendar starting with January 1, 2012. On each date write words of wisdom, love, and encouragement.
  5. Give someone you know the gift of good memories. Decorate a plain shoebox with buttons from an old shirt, ribbons, and glue.  Fill it with photos, old movie tickets, baby clothes, or other items that hold good memories.
