We’ve found lots of ways to give friends and family a happy holiday even if you don’t have tons of pennies in your piggy bank! Check out the five ideas below, and pick up your November/December 2011 issue of Jack and Jill for five more ideas!

- Give your friend a giggle this year for Christmas. Write a joke book, but don’t finish it. Ask your friends to write jokes in it, too.
- Shake up your Christmas, and create homemade holiday snow globes.

- Patch up the holidays with decorative duct tape. Create a scrapbook for friends or family, a wallet for dad or your brother. Make a duct tape book cover or even a duct tape purse.
- Create an inspirational calendar. Design a calendar starting with January 1, 2012. On each date write words of wisdom, love, and encouragement.
- Give someone you know the gift of good memories. Decorate a plain shoebox with buttons from an old shirt, ribbons, and glue. Fill it with photos, old movie tickets, baby clothes, or other items that hold good memories.
